Lint trap
The removable screen in a dryer that catches lint from each load.
The lint trap (or lint screen) is the mesh filter you pull out of a dryer to clean after each load. It catches only part of the lint a load sheds; the rest collects in the vent duct, which is why the full vent line needs cleaning yearly. Clean the screen every cycle, and wash it occasionally to remove invisible fabric-softener residue that restricts airflow.
