Dehumidifier
An appliance that pulls moisture out of indoor air to keep humidity in a healthy range.
A dehumidifier removes water vapor from the air, collecting it in a tank or draining it away. Portable units dry a single room or a basement; whole-house models tie into your ductwork and dehumidify automatically. An air conditioner removes some humidity as it cools, but in mild weather or a damp basement it isn't enough — that's when a dehumidifier earns its keep. Set it to 45–50% relative humidity, choose an ENERGY STAR model to cut running costs, and keep the filter and coils clean.
