Full-frame replacement

Replacing a window down to the rough opening, frame and all.

A full-frame replacement removes the entire old window — sashes, frame, and trim — down to the bare rough opening, versus an insert (or retrofit) that fits a new window inside the existing frame. Full-frame costs more and takes longer, but it lets the installer inspect and repair hidden rot, re-flash and re-insulate the opening, and keep the full glass area. It's the right call for older homes, water-damaged frames, or when you're changing window size or style.
